The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season Reviews

Customers think the Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season delivers excellent dry traction and responsive handling, with many ratings in the 9-10 range. Wet traction receives strong marks for grip and hydroplaning resistance, though some note reduced confidence in heavy rain. Winter performance shows adequate light snow capability but struggles on ice, aligning with its all-season design. The tire offers a comfortable ride with low noise levels, and treadwear ratings suggest impressive longevity for daily driving. While most feedback is positive, a few users mention minor trade-offs in extreme conditions, but overall satisfaction remains high for its intended use.

...In the wet, just incredible! I never had a tire perform as well in the rain. As hard as I tried, I could not get these tires to hydroplane...

The original Hankooks on my Chevy Sonic were absolutely the worst tires I have ever owned. In the snow, you are better off leaving the car in the driveway. I recently put a set of Goodyear Eagle Sport All Seasons on my Chevrolet Sonic LTZ sedan. Huge improvement over the Hankooks. Ride, handling and noise have improved considerably. The car feels more glued to the road and the steering is much more responsive. In the wet, just incredible! I never had a tire perform as well in the rain. As hard as I tried, I could not get these tires to hydroplane. Today I had an opportunity to drive with my Eagles in two inches of snow for the first time. They were very good in the snow. There was some ice in certain spots, which I would rate the ice performance average. Still, traction control and ABS only came on once. With the original tires, they would come on non-stop. These Eagle Sport All Season tires are simply outstanding! It is evident that Goodyear brought some of their success from the racetrack to the street, by integrating proven race technology into the design and engineering of this passenger car tires.

Direct steering feel. Wife loves it on the minivan. Firm yet very quiet and smooth ride. Driving on curvy roads is much more enjoyable. Changing lanes is immediate. Rain traction is great. Rain traction has gotten better as they break-in. The rim protector is a nice bonus near curbs. We love them. Perfect fit for our tastes in wanting good steering feel and cornering and quiet ride.

So far so good with these Goodyear Eagle Sports. Cornering stability and responsiveness are excellent, dry and wet traction are very good and they're even decent in light snow or on packed snow. They are as quiet as the surface you're driving on and the ride is comfortable but note that with the stiff sidewall you will feel small imperfections in the road surface. I recommend these tires and would buy them again.

I worked night shift this past February and we received a sudden dumping of snow (around 5-6 inches). I didn't think I would be able to get home that morning, but with a lot of luck (and lessons learned from driving in Michigan during the winter of 2014), I was able to make it home with this tire.

In all other conditions, the tire to me is decidedly average. My other car is an RX-8, so obviously an Eclipse will have substantially worse handling overall, but considering that and the application, these tires deliver a ton for spirited driving, rain driving, and even snow! They paid for themselves that morning, and more.

...I have done no less than seven 100 mile+ trips through snow storms so far with these tires and am thoroughly impressed... Snow and Ice traction is impressive, even during braking...

So I drive for work, and have put about 10k miles on these tires so far. I have done no less than seven 100 mile+ trips through snow storms so far with these tires and am thoroughly impressed. My car is very light (235 width) and a light 1.6L Ecoboost motor. My car handles tenfold better than it did with the stock Michelin energy. The only thing i'd say is you can feel more road imperfections over the stock Michelins. But, I've had no vibrations at all with these tires even when it was neg 9 here. Dry traction and cornering is fantastic! Wet traction is great. Snow and Ice traction is impressive, even during braking. Take off isn't the best, but that's more due to the vehicle itself. Going between 40-50 on the highway with DEEP snow is what impresses me the most with these tires. They're no snow tire, but I would recommend them to anyone who has to deal with all four seasons. So far the tread is down to 9/32. It looks like I will get 40-50k miles on these tires

Bought these tires as a replacement for the OEM set, and what a difference a good set of tires makes. It feels like I'm driving a different car. I consider myself a very aggressive driver. On dry pavement, these tires are fantastic. They seem to be able to handle any corner at any speed, there's no tire chirp on hard acceleration, and braking is outstanding. I can't make these tires lose traction, and I've tried. Hydroplaning resistance is well above average, it takes some effort but with the right conditions at highway speeds you can get them to hydroplane. A quick letting off the gas pedal gets everything back under control right away. Wet traction is also very strong, flooring it from a stop will make the tires jump once or twice but otherwise, they don't seem to care that the road is wet. Snow performance is above average, they're certainly not snow tires but taking it fairly easy on the gas pedal and limiting yourself to smooth, gradual turns lends itself to easy driving in the snow. Between a dusting through 4-5" of snow on the ground, I haven't had much (if any) difficulty getting around. Having some ice cover on the road doesn't seem to disturb anything either if you're still not driving aggressively. Road noise, at least compared to most other tire sets I've owned, is barely noticeable inside the cabin. Not having driven a lot of miles on these, it's hard to say what the tread wear is like. Based on performance alone, I would certainly recommend these tires to anyone.

...I step on the gas and corner at WAY greater than normal speeds around corners and the tires stuck to the road. It was hard to get them to squel in a turn...

99328! Nice... Still had 3/16 in on the tire that hit some kind of road debris that ended my tires life at 70 miles an hour. Other 3 tires brough me to the side of the road no problem. Drive 48 miles one way back n forth to work. I step on the gas and corner at WAY greater than normal speeds around corners and the tires wet and dry always stuck to the road. It was hard to get them to squel in a turn. However driving in the truckers lane (#3, #4) was a BUMPY ride and seems that even morderate road gaps were like large chasims and with greate noise. You feel e every bump. ALso one thing that bothered me about the tires were lane lines that ran parallel under a tire would cause the car to dodge and weave- back and forth over the lines - so you had to drive on the side of the lane without the lane line or stradle it. Just switch to Michelen Pilot Sport All Season 4 and it's the same grip (I'll find out it better...) but WAY quieter and WAY less road noise and WAY less bumpy. Will post a review of the Pilot Sport 4's when I get some miles under those.

Great tire overall, nevermind at this price point! I have already bought another set for my other vehicle. They are wearing at a pace that they should go just beyond the treadlife warranty. Great steering responsiveness and cornering, and I have never had any issues with wet traction. Easily got my wife (a nurse) to work in light snow with these tires and my RWD Benz. A worthy successor to the Eagle GT, which I had three sets of, but admittedly I liked the looks of the GTs better.
