Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

...In wet conditions or rain the tires again perform well. Grip is good and confidence is high even in a down pour...

Great snow tire with the added benefit of working well in wet conditions and in dry conditions. Possibly the best snow tire I've ever used. Any snow or slush, no matter how much or how little this tire just grips and preforms well. Icy intersection where you might slide as you try to stop do not phase this tire. It just stops. In wet conditions or rain the tires again perform well. Grip is good and confidence is high even in a down pour. In dry conditions, which happens in winter, the tire performs as well or better than any all-season tire. Of course they can't compare to a dedicated summer tire, but they give you plenty of dry road grip so you can still have some fun while the snow tires are on.

These tires have far exceeded my expectations. Other Giulia Quadrifoglio owners have said these are the best winter tires available for this car & they are correct. I use this as a daily driver all year round in New England, and so far this winter the traction in the cold freezing temps and wet rain has been unreal. I drive this car in Race Mode (which automatically turns off traction/ESC) probably 50% of the time and have yet to spin the rear tires. We've had a light winter, so unfortunately can't speak to how the Alpin's handle in deep snow yet, but in light snow the grip is very good. I'm really just blown away by how good these tires are so far in freezing/icy conditions with a rear wheel drive 505HP car. They are worth every cent.

...They are quite, responsive, and almost feel like you're driving a pilot sport in the winter!...

Wow what a difference from the factory 20 inch Goodyear F1! It actually out handles an ultra high performance “all season” tire! They are quite, responsive, and almost feel like you’re driving a pilot sport in the winter! My EV barely noticed a range drop and acceleration is great. I noticed that they do break loose when accelerating from 40-75 at full throttle though nothing serious. I love these tires! The PA4 I received was the N-spec version which is a different pattern than the the traditional PA-4. Exceptional tire overall!

Ride quality is probably as good as a tire with a 30 series sidewall can get. Dry traction is still surprisingly good for a winter tire. I can put down almost 500hp in 2nd gear at 35F with no wheelspin. Also excellent hydroplaning resistance. With these tires I have been able to get my 22 Corvette through 2-4" of Buffalo NY snow. Snow braking is very good with ABS only on harder stops. The rears can slip a bit when accelerating but not to the point where it would get sketchy or you would get stuck. This is likely just due to them being wide (305). Would have gone with the Alpin 5 but its sizes are oddly limited so far. The PA4 is older at this point but still gets the job done.

I spent probably the majority of the trip on the highway doing 70+MPH with minimal road noise and solid comfort...

I needed a winter tire for a cross country road trip over the holidays and expected to encounter every condition from -10F, ice, deep snow, and 50F weather. I spent probably the majority of the trip on the highway doing 70+MPH with minimal road noise and solid comfort.

As temperatures were at/above 50F for parts of the trip, the tire was expected soft and unresponsive but never felt dangerous. In mild snow the tire handled as advertised. In deeper snow, snow that was borderline clearable in the A4, I still had good traction to get me to and from the trails. In the small time we spent on ice in Nebraska, I could feel the tire working with quattro to keep things planted. There were a couple nervous maneuvers with lane changes, but was relatively pleased. Given the low rate of speed though, I'm unsure how they would perform on ice above 40-50 MPH for longer distances as our stretch of road was covered in ice for 15+ miles.

Overall, it's solid performer for a performance winter and did exactly what I needed it to do given the gamut of conditions from east to west.

I left the tires on through the summer because they are quiet and have a great ride...

I used these snow tires on my 2009 Rear Wheel Drive BMW M3, with 440-hp, in the Denver area. Denver has excellent snow removal, so most of the snow and ice driving was in less than 3" of snow, or the days after on wet streets with spots of ice. Without winter tires, the M3 is undriveable in these conditions. With the Michelin Alpin tires, traction is great and the car is very manageable and fun to drive.

I left the tires on through the summer because they are quiet and have a great ride. Performance in the dry is not totally up to a summer tire, but they're very good in the dry and exceptionally good in rain. Four season tires don't cut it here, with powerful RWD, but these Michelins are fantastic. I've ordered a set for my M4 Competition X-drive.

I have absolutely no complaints about these tires for year round driving.

This is now my go to tire for New York winters. I just hit 10,000 miles on this set of tires and completed my second tire rotation. The front two tires show a bit more wear than the rear, mainly because they guide the car through steering. Only the outer sidewall show a slight sign of wear. Overall the tires look and drive like they are brand new.

Winter driving:
The PA4's truly are amazing. During one of the snowfalls, I tried to make them slip in an empty parking lot just to see how good they really were. I could barely lose grip. Even on ice these tires find a way to stop my car. The PA4's have definitely saved my life this winter numerous times. The overall design of the tire and thoughtful tread placements are very effective. These are the safest tires that I have driven on in bad weather.

Dry/Wet Road:
On dry roads I feel as if I have performance summer tires. Cornering responsiveness with these tires make the $400 stock Yoko's look like junk. Crisp steering and amazing grip, I have made moves with these tires that most dedicated summer tires would not be able to hold me. These tires are drivable all year round, although they shine brilliantly during winter conditions.

On wet roads, the large tread cuts through puddles and eliminates hydroplaning. They also provide more cushion when hitting potholes and bumps, and give a very secure feeling when doing so.

Currently, there is no better tire to fit on a performance car than these. Many people overlook the importance of good tires. Do not compromise your life by driving summer tires in the winter. Get a pair of PA4's and feel safe and secure.
