Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Customers Say

Owners report excellent dry traction and confident wet performance, with many highlighting responsive handling and a comfortable ride. Scores in the 9-10 range dominate for dry and wet conditions, aligning with the tire's summer-focused design. Comfort receives consistent praise for smoothness and low noise. However, treadwear shows mixed results-some note rapid wear, particularly with aggressive driving, though others report satisfactory longevity when used as intended. Overall, the Pilot Sport 4S excels in its performance categories, with most concerns centered on tread life rather than dynamic capabilities.

...Dry and wet it feels like 20% more grip (I'm not saying you can get 20% more G on the skid pad, just describing how it feels). The GY always complained and made you wonder if it would let go when things got exciting. These just grip. No complaints. No drama. Just grip...

I have 40k on the non runflat version of this tire on an almost identical MB wagon. The run flat is noisier. I read the reviews that mentioned that. But I expected a low rumble, not the mid frequency I get. It sounds like waving a switch slowly at 30, and quickly at 55. But like putting a ceiling fan in a room without one, at first all you can hear is the new fan, but pretty quickly you stop hearing it. After a couple of weeks I mostly don't hear them, and when I do notice them I forget in a mile. What do I notice? The grip. It is MUCH better than the OEM Good Year Eagle runflat. Dry and wet it feels like 20% more grip (I'm not saying you can get 20% more G on the skid pad, just describing how it feels) . The GY always complained and made you wonder if it would let go when things got exciting. These just grip. No complaints. No drama. Just grip. These tires are fantastic combination of dry and wet grip, durability(I expect), and run flat. I was concerned dropping from a 45 to a 40 (they don't make it in a 45 for my size), but I honestly can't tell the difference in comfort. I would accept a bit of noise for the confidence these tires give me every day of the week.

This is an amazing tire. Probably the best tire I've ever seen. I floor it, it sticks to the road without spinning. Really an amazing thing for a so called all season tire. It's really comfortable. It is noticeably more comfortable than the last tire I had on my car, which I also purchased on this website. I've driven on them a thousand miles and they still look new. For there ability to have so many great things into one super tire I applaud Michelin.

These tires seem to have better traction than the stock Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP's. With accelerating hard off the start, I would get some wheel spin, but these tires don't spin at all under hard acceleration in dry conditions. With the increased wet traction and the ability to drive in cold conditions, these tires are an upgrade all around. No more worrying about if it is going to rain and how my car is going to handle. Lastly, there is no tire chatter when taking a sharp turn at slow speeds - again signaling better traction than the OEM summer only tires.

Tires are great accept not great for a Corvette Z06. I'm always spinning the tires when driving not including spirited driving. I can feel the tires breaking traction on dry pavement. I have a 7 speed manual trans and running the gears even at lower speeds will some times spin the tires. I bought these tires thinking that all seasons would give me the opportunity to drive year round which they do. However, owning a Corvette is reason to accelerate occasionally just to hear the exhaust. These tires again are great accept not for any type of Corvette driving.I mostly experience spinning shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear under 40 mph. However, to each their own. It appears that the life of these tires might be great because of the wear rating of 540. Just my opinion as a purchaser.

...Also looking Forward to getting more than 5000 miles out of a tire set...

The tires work extremely well under hard acceleration compared to the factory eagle super car 3 without extreme temperatures which Goodyear requires , I have not driven it at the track to see how they hold up, but I wanted a tire like this that if I got caught out in the rain, which I don’t usually try to drive in the rain that I had a tire that was safe . Also looking Forward to getting more than 5000 miles out of a tire set .
