P Zero tires are Max Performance Summer tires derived from 100 years of Pirelli motorsport experience and developed for the drivers of powerful sports cars, sports coupes and high performance luxury sedans. Initially introduced as Original Equipment on the Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Lamborghini Murcielago, Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT and Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles, the P Zero lineup also includes select replacement tire sizes. Pirelli's warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the P Zero, like all summer tires, is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
P Zero tires feature a special silica and carbon black tread compound that proves competent during the first few miles of driving when the tire is still cold, as well as consistent performance throughout the tire's life. The tread compound is molded into Pirelli's S-treme asymmetric design in which the location and width of the circumferential and lateral grooves minimize deformation to blend responsive handling, hydroplaning resistance and wet traction with dry road performance, even wear and acoustic comfort. Special nano-composites in the compound beneath the tread protect the casing from deterioration and merge sport handling with ride comfort. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by polyamide cord plies and an integration of nylon and aramid cord that controls tire profile deformation and stabilizes the tread area to enhance high-speed capability and handling.
Limited sizes of the P Zero are available with Pirelli Noise Cancelling System, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Clash of the Titans: Testing Two New Max Performance Summer Heavy Hitters (03:38)
Recently, two titans in the tire world launched new Max Performance Summer tires: Bridgestone and their Potenza S-04 Pole Position and Michelin with the Pilot Super Sport. Both are long-awaited replacements for very capable and popular products from each brand.
How do they compare to the other heavy hitters in the category?
Drivers consistently rate the Pirelli P Zero as excellent in dry traction, with many scores in the 9-10 range highlighting precise handling and confident cornering. Wet traction receives strong praise for grip, though some note reduced performance in heavy rain. Comfort scores are generally positive, with a smooth ride, but a few mention noticeable road noise. Treadwear is a common concern, with rapid wear reported by several users despite the tire's performance focus.

Replaced a set of Michelins with the P6000's amd found that the steering responsiveness was much better. My only gripe is that in the wet I tend to spin the tyres a bit but I can forgive that as the Audi 100 avant is not a a light car and a fair bit of power is being applied. ...Initially, the Pirellis were great. I just could not beleive the amount of grip. Almost impossible to break loose... Good in the rain too.
I just replaced my OEM Pirelli P6000s with Goodyear F1 GS/D3s. My stock Pirellis had about 15,000 miles. Initially, the Pirellis were great. I just could not beleive the amount of grip. Almost impossible to break loose. And I drove them very hard. At very high speeds (up to 130 mph) the tires are quiet and very stable. Good in the rain too. I have snow tires, so never tried them in snow.
Tires went downhill after 10K miles or so. Noise became very bad, a very loud whooing sound especially worse at cruising speeds (65 mph), though it went away at higher speeds (80+). Ride felt much harder, with some vibration, and tires tramlined like crazy, following every unevenness in the road to the point of being dangerous.
Fortunately I havent had bubbling problems as others have reported. But the quick deterioration of these tires made me look elsewhere.

...There could be a little more compliance on uneven road surfaces, but overall their grip is incredible.
P6000 Sport Veloce all-season tires were the OEM tires on my Saab and were horrible with a propensity to break lose with little warning and a knack for picking up road hazards. Because of that experience, I was reluctant to go with Pirelli again, but Ive been very happy with these tires. Theyve been a great improvement. There could be a little more compliance on uneven road surfaces, but overall their grip is incredible. In addition, Ive seen my mileage improve slightly since switching. I would buy this tire again.

These tires are great on dry surface and in the rain i have not had a problem. They hold really tight when driving around a corner at significant speeds but with the pot holes in the NE area its a serious problem. In my front tire i have sidewall damage and the spare has a softball sized bubble in the sidewall. The tires try to "drive" the car for you. If not on flat surface the tires tend to pull in every direction. They are noisy but then again they are low profile tires so its kind of expected. The comfort of the ride is ok, i mean you can feel every bump on the road and a minor pot hole feels like you drove through a crater. I would not purchase this tire again and would not suggest anyone else buys this tire especially if you live in a climate similar to Philadelphia.

...The Pirellis are old-tech hard-sidewall speed rated... So 132mph with an H rated tire gives a docile quiet ride thru the neighborhood...
Replaced the horrid Pirelli 6000s on the 95 XJS 4.0 with Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Symetrical on my mechanics reco. The Pirellis are old-tech hard-sidewall "speed rated" but theres no place to cruise at 140 in NJ. So 132mph with an "H" rated tire gives a docile quiet ride thru the neighborhood with sticktion in sanctioned slaloms. The stiff KYB shocks actually work without sounding like a ballpeen hammer on the frame. Its like a different car!

...The rears wore down much faster than I anticipated...
Not the best tire for the money compared to others available. The rears wore down much faster than I anticipated. Two things that I find undesirable with this tire, the noise and tramlining. Even at low speeds (45mph) its noticable and more when turning. But the worse is tramlining, Ive tried various tire pressures but no matter what I do the car moves all over the road on any imperfection. Switching to Yokis AVS db2 this time.
