Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) tires are Max Performance Summer tires derived from Pirelli's Formula 1 experience and developed for some of the most exclusive and highest-performing vehicles available. Initially introduced as Original Equipment on the Audi A3 and S3, Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 and the Porsche Boxster, Cayman and 911, the P Zero (PZ4) includes replacement tire sizes as well as original equipment fitments. Pirelli's warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the P Zero (PZ4), like all summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Pirelli P Zero (PZ4)Each Original Equipment marked P Zero (PZ4) tire is tailored to the specific application. A special silica and carbon black tread compound can be adjusted according to the vehicle manufacturer's needs to deliver the desired combination of wet or dry grip and handling, comfort, tread life and fuel economy. The tread compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design featuring an outer shoulder that differs based on whether the tire is intended for original equipment use on a sports car or a luxury vehicle, with the sports car's outer shoulder focused on dry handling, grip and lateral stability, while the outer shoulder of a luxury vehicle tire is tuned for improved comfort, noise and lateral hydroplaning resistance. Non-original equipment P Zero (PZ4) tires feature the sports car outer shoulder design, and all versions utilize wide, circumferential grooves for efficient water evacuation and hydroplaning resistance.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by a hybrid nylon and Kevlar ZeroDegree cap ply. Based on the desired performance characteristics of the original equipment application, the tire casing will be 2-ply polyester or 1- or 2-ply rayon, with either symmetric or asymmetric construction. This customization allows the tire designers to further fine-tune the tire to match the personality of the automobile for which it is engineered.

The specific tread pattern for each size P Zero (PZ4) is identified on the Specs tab, and will be listed as a clarifier when you look at Search Results.

Limited sizes of the P Zero (PZ4) are available with Pirelli's Seal Inside technology. Seal Inside utilizes an adhesive sealant that coats around the base of the embedded object or is drawn through the resulting hole, sealing the punctured area and allowing the vehicle to continue operating without losing air pressure. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Limited sizes of the Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) are available with Pirelli Noise Cancelling System (PNCS), which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Customers Say

Customer ratings showcase the Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) as an excellent choice for dry traction, with many perfect 10s highlighting sharp handling and confident grip. Wet traction earns strong feedback (scores 7-10), delivering reliable performance in rain, though a few note hydroplaning in heavy downpours. Comfort receives praise for a smooth, quiet ride, with most scores in the 7-10 range. However, treadwear raises concerns-scores frequently dip to 0-6, with many reporting rapid wear even under moderate use. While it excels in its summer-focused design, buyers prioritizing longevity may find its tread life disappointing compared to its dynamic driving performance.

Great tire to allow me to take my porsche to its limits. Good in dry and wet conditions. Great cornering on the back hilly roads of western pennsylvania. Only wish tread life were greater, 10 k and theyre bald!

...What little driving I have done in wet conditions were good, but I rarely drive in those conditions enough to form an adequite opinion.

I only have the Goodyear EMT tires to compare the PZeros to, but what a difference. Cornering is improved dramatically as well as noise and ride. What little driving I have done in wet conditions were good, but I rarely drive in those conditions enough to form an adequite opinion.

...Dry traction/control second to none.

I really like these tires, I've never had a set of Pirelli's before and I'm very pleased with them, now I thinking of giving my GTI and upgrade of wheel and tire package and the tires definitely will be some Rosso's , by the way I used to be a Michelin fan till the SX GT's really disappointed me !.....

Always have had Pirelli on all my 8 P cars, but this is the first set of Rossos. Noisy as miles accumulate, great dry traction. Not driven in the rain, except accidentally once. Will use Tire Rack rating system for new tires. No track use yet, probably never.

...Very comfortable and quiet tyre, good for a daily driver with a bit of spirited driving on weekends...

Not a cheap tyre, and it does wear faster than some but the predicability of this tyre when driven close to the limit is impressive. It doesn't just "let go" like some other tyres I've driven on, it makes you very aware when it approachs it's limits.

Good wet weather tyre until the last 10-15% of tyre life when it drops off quickly (most tyres would anyway).

Very comfortable and quiet tyre, good for a daily driver witha bit of spirited driving on weekends.

Have taken them to the track and they handled it without any problems, not as much grip as a dedicated track tyre but still very good.

...My only complaint is they're a tad noisey...

The P Zeros came OEM with my RS 6. Ive driven them in almost every condition (highway, track, in rain, in heat, even in snow!). Ive been very impressed with them. My only complaint is theyre a tad noisey and the wear is not the greatest (although that would be due to my driving style combined with 450HP!). When the tires wore out I tried the Pilot Sports but can honestly say that theyre no better than the P Zeros and the P Zeros are cheaper. When the Pilots are toast I will be going back to the Rossos.

OEM tires for the 2006 C55 AMG: Treadwear is aweful. The 245 rare tires last only 10K miles; the front 235s do slightly better. Noisy on dry road; highway noise is even worse. One thing outstanding, however, is that these tires do stick like glue (actually more like a pencil eraser and wear like it too!) Recommendation: look for alternatives.

...Treadlife seems to be pretty poor...

Got these from someone that got the wrong A/R, but I preffer the shorter sidewall. The tires are great on dry, not as good on wet (comparable to my RE92s that came stock), and HORRIBLE in the SNOW (had a meeting with a wall with 2" of snow on the ground). Treadlife seems to be pretty poor. I would be willing to go with the Neros for summers next time.
